POLICIES

Checking in, checking out & everything in between

If you are unsure as to how your pet may react in a boarding situation, we encourage you to bring them by in advance so that we can assess their behavior.

When dropping off your pet for the first time, please plan to spend a few minutes completing the required paperwork. We also ask that you take note of the following important items:

  •  Shot records must be provided for all kennel and grooming services prior to drop-off.

Dogs: DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough)

    Cats: FVRCP, Rabies.

  • The Bordetella vaccine for canines must be current within six months.
  • Both dogs and cats will be checked and, if necessary, treated for fleas and ticks at an additional charge.
  • For consistency in your pet’s diet, we highly recommend you bring your own food.
  • Medications/supplements can be administered for an additional charge and must include instructions.
  • “Go Home Grooms” must be scheduled at time of drop-off.
  •  Sick/injured, aggressive or extremely timid animals will not be allowed to board at AHKC. Please be sure that we will be able to handle your pet prior to Drop-Off .
  • **Due to the nature of a kennel environment, we are unable to board pets under the age of 6 months.

Please know that while we maintain the most sanitary conditions, it is impossible to ensure that your pet won't contract an airborne virus such as Bordetella. The good news is that it is typically very treatable and short-lived but do see your veterinarian for the most current vaccines and any questions.
